Check out these pictures! I am selling a pretty large collection of horseracing matchbooks from racetracks around the globe- most are long gone! I've had a lot of these matchbooks from when I was a kid (a long time ago :-)). Whenever I was racing a horse outside of the Chicago area, I always tried to grab a book of matches from that particular track. Over the years I raced horses all over the country and in Canada as well. Most of these are just the outside advertising cover of the book, but there are a few of them that still have matches inside. The only duplicates are from a few tracks BUT they are a different era and not that same at all. Some of the tracks in this collection are: Sportsmans Park (60's-70"s-80's), Roosevelt Raceway, Yonkers Raceway, Vernon Downs, Batavia Downs, Quad City Downs, Santa Anitia, Gulfstream Park, Keeneland, Suffolk Downs, Detroit Race Course, Hollywood Park, Barrie Raceway, Maywood Park, CAHOKIA DOWNS, Northville Downs, Atlantic City Raceway, Flamboro Downs, Orangeville Raceway, Truro Raceway, Windsor Raceway, Scarborough Downs, Buffalo Raceway, Ladbroke at Meadows, Saratoga, Liberty Bell Park, Blue Bonnets Raceway, Northfield Downs, Del-Mar, Kentucky Horse Park, Woodbine, Randall Park, Louisville Downs, Los Alamitos, Oaklawn, NYRA, Ontario Jockey Club and many more. I just checked out eBay and there are some of the older matchbooks selling for $20-$30 each and there are also some selling in the $5-$10 range. If I counted right, there are 98 matchbook covers in total in this lot and I’m including the three glass display cases too. Most of these are very old and hard to find, and while I'm not an expert, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better collection that is put together like this. All of them have minor wear and use but overall still vibrant color and display very well. Looking for a specific piece of harness racing nostalgia?
